PC8S-206 8-Track Tape

'67 Ford Demonstration

PC8S-500 8-Track Tape

A complete Ford USA listing of stereo auto demonstration and salesman only 8-track tapes by model year is below.  Tapes listed in white bold italics are featured above.  The identifying numbers where available include Ford engineering and part numbers, and RCA catalog numbers.  1966 RCA # PC8S-206 is very rare and titled “Thunderbird Demonstration Tape”.  It was probably not given away with the purchase of a new T-Bird and was only intended as a salesman’s demonstration tape.  1977 Volume # 77GM3L9 was titled “Aeronutronic Ford Sound Systems – The Sound of Quality” and was also probably only a salesman’s demo tape.  Two stereo demonstration 8-track tapes were produced by RCA for Ford's 1982 and 1983 model years.

3 other Ford 8-track tapes are not included in this listing.  The first is RCA catalog number PC8S-183.  This 1966 model year 8-track tape may have been a Ford dealer service tool-aid test cartridge for 8-track player diagnosis.   However, this RCA catalog number has never been confirmed with an 8-track tape image or listed in a Ford shop manual.   The second is Ford engineering number D6AA-19A059-AA.  This 1976 number may have been a second stereo demonstration 8-track tape offering for that model year.  It could also have been an early Ford cassette number or a Ford engineering number that never made it to RCA 8-track tape production.   This 1976 Ford engineering number has never been confirmed with an 8-track tape or cassette image.   The final is RCA catalog number PC85-546.  This Ford Australia 1970 or 1971 model year stereo 8-track tape does exist.  It was titled "An Introduction to the World of Car Stereo".  This 8-track tape may have been provided free to customers who purchased new Ford vehicles with 8-track player options in Australia.
